Natural Remedies For Yeast Infections
Every now and then the natural rhythms of a woman’s body may temporarily change and you may find that you have developed a yeast infection. Yeast infections will occur in as many as 1 in 3 women at some time during their lives. It is a very normal condition to find yourself in and is usually nothing serious but this does not mean that it is not annoying and/or downright itchy and painful.
Yeast infections may occur when your hormones are out of balance. This could occur during pregnancy, during the use of oral contraceptives, during the use of antibiotics or simply because your estrogen levels are abnormal at the time.
So what are some natural remedies for yeast infections?
Boric Acid suppositories has been known to be more effective than some antibiotic treatments. It is a strong body cleanser and will have antifungal elements. Yeast Arrest is one Boric Acid maker than you may be able to find at some pharmacies. Take caution when considering the use of Boric Acid because it is toxic if taken by mouth. It should also never be used by women who are pregnant.
You may have also heard about the healing remedy power of garlic and yogurt. Some will say eating these substances will help keep away yeast infections because of their “good bacteria” content - but it has also been tested that applying them to the vagina will heal up a yeast infection. It is important to use plain yogurt for this though because yogurt with any flavor will contain sugar and sugar would actually make a yeast infection worse.
Tea Tree Oil also has healing effects and is a natural remedy. It is still being tested for the purposes of being a remedy for yeast infections specifically though.
You may also consider the use of probiotics which can be found in pill form or as a suppository. Like the yogurt cure, probiotics will help the body gain back this “good bacteria” that will bring your body back into balance.
If you are considering any natural remedies for yeast infections be sure to do the proper research into the remedy of your choice. You’ll want to make sure that it is safe for you and that you do not have any allergies to the remedy.
